This is the CNPS7000A-AlCu Zalman CPU cooler

After spending a very long time going though the silentpcreview forums, I decided on using this cooler for my Asus K8N-E motherboard and AMD 3000+ processor. The cooler came with mounting brackets and screws, thermal paste, and a fanmate controller. I used Arctic thermal paste instead of the included paste. The cooler was initially louder than I though it would be. The trick is to lower the voltage of the fan, either using the fanmate controller, or using some other fan controller. My motherboard’s fan controller feature conflicts with the fanmate a bit. If both are in use, the fan does not spin when the computer boots, which causes a boot error. Right now I am using my motherboard fan controller instead of the fanmate. Unless the fans are running at full blast, my computer is quiet, and my case fan is louder than this Zalman cooler.

When installing this cooler, I had to blast my motherboard for a minute with a hair dryer to get the existing backplate off. With the heat, it fell off with very little force.
