Extrem leise
Lange Lebensdauer / 6 Jahre Garantie

Extremely Quiet. The low speed 92 mm fan reduces the noise level to a minimum. The patented fan holder is able to practically eliminate the typical buzzing sound of 92 mm fans. The PWM chip in the motor allows an exact fan speed control over the BIOS. (4 wire). Powerful cooling. The Heat Pipes with expanded diameter are able to transfer heat up to 200 Watt. The heat exchanger is built of 42 fins and consists of a surface area of over 4700 cm2 and allows for resistance free energy transfer to air. Integrated Cooling of Voltage Converters. Air is drawn in from the side of the fan to cool the components around the CPU. Some air is blown out towards the voltage converters o-n the mainboard with the bent fins at the bottom.

Awful experience

I don’t doubt that performance-wise this cooler is really efficient and worth the money. ABOUT THE INSTALLATION process though, it may be worth noting that it is highly recommended to install this HUGE fan only if you have a big computer case (no mini nor microATX format) and only if your motherboard in NOT ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE CASE!!! Some high-tech people may find the installation easy, but the regular consumer should be aware of the following:
- the copper platform doesn’t necessarily center itself on the CPU (resulting in non-efficient heat transfer)
- if that is the case, and the user rocks the fan unit back and forth, there is the risk that the thermal paste will already stick to the CPU and yanks it out of the socket!!! Damage has occurred in some cases as I have installed many of those HSF Arctic units!
- check the size specs, it is really huge and some motherboards will not allow you to install this heatsink without interfering with the RAM sockets or other components already present on your mobo!
Beware!!
Seems to work well.

They told me the Big typhoon would be a problem to install. nothing like this one was. But i did get it on using a large flathead screw driver to push down and in on the clip. You need to install this before installing the motherboard. Will make it much easier. (I’ll hate to have to take it off) It’s very quiet i haven’t overclocked my cpu yet but i think this would work well.
Best I’ve Owned

This is the best cpu cooler I have owned to date. It is also pretty cheap for what you get. It has a copper base but the cooling fins are made of aluminum. The fan is fairly quite. I have an AMD Athlon64 3000+ overclocked to 2.25GHz and run BOINC 24hrs a day. It is at full load all the time. When ambient air is 72-78 degrees or so, my cpu usually runs at 102-106 degrees.
I bought mine at another retailer (newegg) for $20. Very much worth it, as long as you have the clearance. It is a large HSF, so make sure you have plenty of room around your cpu. When I first got it, I thought, there is no way this is going to fit! But, I tried anyway, and it fit just fine. Room to spare even (not much though).
must buy

buy it, my cpu runs hot at about 47 degree celcius idle, 58 degree celcius load.
with the cooler it ran 43 degree celcius idle, 54 degree celcius load.a big difference.
add in a few case fans and i am at 39 idle, 47 load.
pros:
looks good
works well
good price
cons:
hard to install, takes a lot of effort
does’t use a standard 92mm fan.

Huge cooler - Overkill?
05 Jun 2007 @ amazon.com
This cooler is huge. I bought one of these, but it didn’t fit inside my PC case. What good is a CPU cooler if it if it doesn’t fit inside your PC?
In all fairness, it does have a copper base for better heat transfer and neat-o looking tubes coming out of the base, and due to its size, I’m sure it cools well. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use it due to its size.
Does exactly as expected

Definitely lowered my idle and load temperatures by a good 5-6 degrees. It’s quieter than a stock AMD fan, but maybe not as quiet as the maker claims. it’s more of a whooshing sound which I actually find far more pleasant than the ugly vibrating whirrr the old heatsink/fan used to make
The thermal paste they use may be good (so they say), but frankly I thought they laid it on way too thick, so I went for a little blob of Arctic Silver 5 instead and it’s performing as well if not better (still hardening too).
It’s really not that difficult to install! There’s a little knack to it for sure requiring some tilting here and there. It’s practically like the stock contraption except the lever is on the other side. Contrary to some other reviews I’ve seen, I had no problems fitting it on the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe... yes it’s big, but it doesn’t obstruct anything. The only thing I did do was remove my first graphics card to give me a little more room to work.
