The cold air is drawn from outside to cool the fins directly:
To provide the ultimate heat conductivity and larger surface area, Accelero S2 features dual thick copper heatpipes which extend directly from GPU core. Heat from the GPU can rapidly reach through 31 dissipating fins that extend beyond the height of the graphic card. Optimized fin design allows air flow to easily pass through and removes the heat effectively. Together with the bundled RAM heat sinks, Accelero S2 provides an all-round passive solution that achieves the best cooling performance.

Practical zero noise solution
Install and forget about it ? No moving parts means maintenance free. An extra pair of mounting clips provides extensive protection to the graphic card that prevents damage from improper handling.

lower tempatureRating: 5

You will: get the temp down in 3 degrees, and reduce the noise from your computer. This and my 120mm vents, do their job if you want a noiseless environment.

I want something like this to cool down my CPU :D

pd. Check the notes, and be sure your video card is compatible, and that you have enough space inside your pc (is bigger than my 7600GT card).

I had bought this to replace the stock cooler on my 8600GT overclocked at 680MHz. I was not expecting too much since this was a passive heatsink, but it impressed me nonetheless. With the stock heatsink my temps were between 55-60 degrees idle and 70-85 under heavy load. With the Accelero my idle temps are 40-50 and under load 60-70.

The only downside I can see to this heatsink is it’s size (it’s bigger than my video card) and might not fit in the case. It also takes up a PCI slot.
Works great even though it is not made for my graphics cardRating: 5

I have an Nvidia 7950GT. I took off the stock cooling, and I decided to use this. Only one of the holes line up with my card for the screws to keep it in place, but it comes with clamps that allow you to hook it to the card and with the one screw in I am able to get a tight fit and keep it secure. It works exceptional. I don’t know the temperatures I am running at but I know I can play all the games I was playing at the same high settings with no slowing down and no noise from the a fan being attached to the card. I am extremely happy with it.

This cooler is big. It will take up an additional spot on your tower but so did the stock cooling.
Awesome product, amazing value.Rating: 5

Solid build quality. Great price. Slight compatibility issue (mounting holes didn’t line up) but I worked around it since the included clamps worked beautifully and still prevent the cooler from being loose. My gpu temp under load dropped a full 25 Celcius (!!!) and my idle temp dropped 10 Celcius. That’s incredible for a completely passive cooler. Highly recommended.
Accelero S2 - Effective Silent CoolingRating: 4
03 Sep 2007 @ amazon.com
The Accelero S2 is an effective VGA cooler for mid-range VGA cards provided that you have enough space to install it and that there is adequate airflow through the case to cool it.

The memory chip heatsinks have a weak adhesive tape that tends to fall off. Otherwise the installation is reasonably easy and the cooler works fairly well, even on a hot Radeon X850XT.
Arctic Cooling also makes auxilliary fans called a "Turbo Module" that will cool even the hottest card.

The contact surface is flat but fairly rough. Fortunately, the pre-applied thermal compound works very well with this finish. You would not want to use a thinner compound such as Arctic Silver 5 without first lapping the contact area.
