Description
Scythe, one of the leading air-cooling systems designers in the world, have unleashed a new version of one of their best coolers on the unsuspecting but performance hungry multitudes. Introducing the Scythe Ninja Plus B!
Scythe is one of the few companies I know of that have put out a bunch of seriously high performance coolers in a short period of time. With success stories like the Ninja, Mine and the current air champ here at PC, the mighty Infinity, Scythe have some serious airplay with computer enthusiasts, especially those who long for a decent compromise between performance and noise. It might have been tempting for Scythe to have rested on their laurels, but they seem unstoppable in their quest for the best in cooling for any platform. To prove it Scythe have being kind enough to send to us another cooler for review.
As many of you will have picked up due to its name, this cooler is not, strictly speaking, a new cooler by Scythe. It is actually an improvement on a modern day classic. The Ninja Plus B is basically the same as the Ninja and Ninja Plus updated with support for AMD’s recently released socket, the AM2. The Ninja Plus really tamed the AMD socket 939 and socket T (Intel 775) processors so we assume the Plus B wont have any problems with the much cooler running AM2 processors. Let’s see how well it does against the top two air-cooling kings of Pro-Clockers!
