Explanation of How BSA Misleads With Piracy Stats
[H]ardOCP:
TechDirt has an article about how the Business Software Alliance (BSA) proves the old adage: There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. The author takes a look at the recent BSA piracy statistics release and explains why theyre bogus.
I’m still hopeful that eventually the BSA will recognize that it’s doing more damage to its own position by publishing obviously bogus numbers. So, with the organization releasing another bogus stat today, it’s time to explain why it’s wrong and misleading.
