After the great success of their Far Cry Benchmark, HardwareOC released a new program that allows you to benchmark your system with today’s most popular FPS-game, Half-Life 2. The program does not modify any registry-entries or configuration files, so it is completely safe to use. It contains 5 built in demos; you can set filtering methods, resolutions and much much more.

How to benchmark?

In order to use HardwareOC Half-Life 2 Benchmark, you need a working Steam-account. If you did not do it before, install Half-Life 2 and create a proper Steam-account.

IMPORTANT: always update Steam and the game itself before testing, because this is necessary to run the benchmarks properly. If all these are completed, run HardwareOC Half-Life 2 Benchmark. Set the parameters (resolution, quality level etc.), and click to the RUN button. If Steam is not running already, the software asks if you want to start it now. Choose yes, or benchmarking cannot continue. Wait until Steam is fully loaded (it may update itself before logging in), then click RUN again. The benchmark will start using the parameters you set, the results will be saved to a HTML-file.
