Description
Six embedded heat pipes provide superb heat dissipation.
Special heatsink design - maximum cooling performance at any mounted angle.
Raised base design to avoid interfering with components surrounding the CPU such as capacitors and fan connectors.
100% copper fins and special welding techniques enable seamless connections between fins and pipes.
High-density fins provide a large surface area for heat dissipation.
Greater cooling performance with optional high speed 80mm fan.
Perfect for all K8 and P4 CPUs.
The Universal Retention Module that is included in Hyper 6 package is designed for P4 and K8 platforms.
If it is interfering with the surrounding capacitors, you can stay with the original mainboard’s retention module and install the heatsink with Cooler Master’s Back Plate.

Hyper 6+ is built for high performance with a uniquely designed of universal retention module. This super silent CPU cooler, with heat-pipe technology, successfully takes heat away and its 100mm fan provides mass airflow and high air pressure to maximum heat dissipation. The powerful and quiet operation of the Hyper 6+ supports the latest Prescott LGA775, Pentium 4, AMD’s K8 and K7. High-density saw-toothed fins provide a large surface area and make more heat dissipation Greater cooling performance with optional high-speed 100mm fan Heat Sink Dimension - 88x88x35 mm Fan Dimension - 100x100x25 mm Fan Speed - 1800 - 3600 R.P.M. Well...I subscribe to Maximum PC and I often use their reviews and advice on making computer purchases. I was looking for a way to cool my pc most effectively while at the same time not "rob the bank." They rated this heatsink/fan with a 9/10 rating and I thought, hey, that’s extremely impressive! So I decided to buy it based on their recommendation. Well...I agree with them in that I felt the fan was relatively quiet. However, the dimensions of the actual heatsink was hard to work with. It is very tall.

This fan won Maximum PC’s Kick A$$ Award which is why I purchased it. Instructions to install are poor at best. Although Cooler Master makes installation look easy you must pull out the entire motherboard to secure a backplate on the underside of the motherboard. I have a BRAND NEW motherboard that was even used in the instructions page in the illustrations and the backplate would NOT fit! I had to use nuts that were supplied for a different processor and worked fine. However, it only cooled CPU by 1-2 degress at best. As a result I returned it for a refund and bought a front case ventilation fan for $20 that improved airflow and reduced temp by 8 degrees.

This cooler is huge. Be sure you have clearance for it. Its tall and wide because of the fan. But it keeps my 3.0ghz cpu around 40 degrees on an Asus motherboard in an Antec case. Noise level is low and controlled by the motherboard. Excellent construction quality and performance.
